Students may be denied participation if they fail to meet academic and/or behavioral requirements. Teachers, with consultation from the principal or assistant principal, have the right to suspend a student from participating in a field trip due to incomplete work or behavior problems. Students who are not attending field trips are required to be in attendance at school during the field trip. Parents have the right to refuse their child’s participation in a field trip.
Birthday Policy
Saint Andrew School would be pleased to help celebrate your child’s birthday or half-birthday. If your child wishes to celebrate with his or her classmates please read the following guidelines.
- Bring enough treats for all of his or her classmates.
- Due to family choices and food allergies many of our students are on restricted diets. With respect to all of the students in the classroom we ask that the treats be non-edible or the child brings a book donation to the school.
- This means no donuts, cupcakes, pizza, etc. (Examples of non-edible treats include pencils, erasers, highlighters, markers, notepads, bookmarks, etc.)
- Parents should check with his or her child’s teacher for a recommendation of a book if you are choosing to donate one.
- Students may come out of uniform on his or her birthday.
- Middle school students receive a homework pass.
- Students will have their birthdays announced on the morning announcements.
- If the birthday falls on a non-school day the student should arrange an alternative day with his or her teacher.
- Summer birthdays will be celebrated on half-birthdays.
- If your child wishes to pass out birthday invitations on school grounds for a party outside of school please include all of the homeroom students or use the U.S. Postal Service if you wish to just invite a small amount of the class.
