Karen Siciliano has been a longserving parishioner at St. Andrew Parish. She recently was honored for her constant service with the Christifideles Award which she received at Holy Name Cathedral on Sunday, January 10, 2016.

Christifideles Awards are given to Catholic laypeople who have, by participating in parish life, demonstrated the personal and ministerial renewal called for by the papal exhortation Christifideles Laici, calling the laity to the “vocation of responsibility for the church’s life springing from the gift and mission of their baptism20160110_135818.” You can read all about the recipients of this year’s awards at

Karen was recognized for this award on the account of 19 years of teaching CCD at St. Andrew parish. She has seen the religious education for parishioners who attend public schools go through many different plans and approaches and has always given herself fully to this ministry. She has also served as a lector and Eucharistic Minister at the parish for over 20 years.

We are grateful to Karen for all of her service and are proud that she is a recipient of this award. We pray for God’s blessing to be abundant upon her and for her to continue to radiate with the love of God which she has done for so many years.
