Gifts Received – A story of how Clark McCain has received…

The Coleman Foundation was photographed June 8, 2015.

I became Catholic through the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)program when I was in my late 20s. As part of that process, during the Rite of Welcoming the priest asks you, “what do you ask of God’s Church?” There is a formulaic response (“Faith”) but the priest at my then parish asked us to provide our own. Mine was “a spiritual home for my family.” I am so deeply blessed that the gift I have been given is just what I sought on that day. Home is where you feel comfortable. It’s where you can be your true self while learning from and being inspired by those who surround you. When you turn the lights on at home, you know you’re returning to the place you belong. And when I enter Saint Andrew Church with my family and see that the sanctuary lamp is lit, I know we are in our spiritual home.
