Gifts Received – A story of why Vida Vinzons choses to give…

The gift of time: When I received the letter from Fr. Sergio, inviting me to be part of the Capital Campaign, my first reaction was to say, “No” since I don’t have the talent to solicit nor the treasure to give, but one thing I had was time. So I attended the meeting and we were given pointers on how to go about it. I was still reluctant, because when I saw the amount being asked of people on the list of potential donors and the goal of $2.25 million, it was very daunting. Then with slight hesitation, I ventured to look at the list and saw some people that I know. “Yes,” I said to myself, “I can do this.” I assisted little by little calling other people and eventually, as a parish, we reached our goal. Since we were small, my parents taught us to believe in the power of prayer and to help in any way we can with the Church, for it is in giving that we receive. I was glad I was able to do that.
