Wear Red on Friday for Cardinal Elect Cupich

This coming weekend, Saturday, November 19, 2016, Archbishop Cupich will be elevated to Cardinal. This momentous event will identify Cardinal-Elect Cupich as one of the few who will have a say in the election of the next pope as well as key participation in consistories and significant gatherings of the Universal Church. It is a tremendous honor for which we as a parish are grateful.cupichfrancis

As a way of showing our support to Cardinal-Elect Cupich, Saint Andrew School is taking the lead in our community by having a “Wear Red-Day” on Friday, November 18, 2016.

We’d like to extend an invitation to all parishioners to join us and witness to their support for Cardinal-Elect Cupich by wearing red this Friday. By doing so, in our places of work, our stores, and our daily activities, we’ll be a visible reminder to all of Chicago of this important occasion.

We’ll also be collecting photos of parishioners wearing red to share with Cardinal-Elect Cupich. Simply take a photo of yourself wearing red and tag it on a Facebook or Twitter post using the hashtag #SaintAndrewForCupich and we’ll gather up the images and send them to Cardinal-Elect Cupich as a way of letting him know that we support him.

Thanks and don’t forget to Wear Red on Friday, November 18!
